What is Taekwon-Do?
The basic explanation is that Tae Kwon-Do is a form of unarmed combat for the purpose of self defence.
However Tae Kwon-Do is far more than that ...
It can be described as the scientific use for self defence, a body that has, through intense phisical and mental training, gained the ultimate use of all its facilities.
Taekwon-Do is a martial art that is unequalled in either power or technique.
Literally translated:
- "TAE" means to kick or smash with the foot,
- "KWON" means to punch or destroy with the fist,
- "DO" means an art or way.
Tae Kwon-Do indicates the mental training and the techniques of unarmed combat for self defence as well as health, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks and dodges with bare hands and feet to the rapid destruction of the moving opponent or opponents.
